YESSS! I was with my family, and we were walking up the Nichols Bridge to go to the art institute, and I was having a bad day and my parents had just had a large fight and everyone was reaaaaal pissy, when what do I see? Only a bunch of Homestuck cosplayers! Did you happen to notice a teenage girl with brown curly hair simultaneously squealing and laughing hysterically? That was me!
Do you have any small inkling of how much that made my day - no, week - no, YEAR? And my mom looked at me funny, like, "What is so great about these strangely dressed people?" and I couldn't reply because I was laughing/sqealing/drowning in an internal pit of pure joy way too hard. And then... and then your Dirk and Jake did a tango dip...
(At least I'm pretty sure that was you guys. It might have been, you know. Another band of alpha kids cosplayers going to the Nichols bridge on Labor Day, who knows. You know, this would be pretty embarassing for me if it turned out to not be you guys.)
oh man! I'm sorry your day was going bad, but I'm glad we were able to brighten your mood!! but I'm not sure if I saw you! My friends did mention someone who they thought recognized us!
ah yeah Jake and I were trying to figure out some sweet poses and she suggested to dip me! it was pretty funny xD hopefully I'll be able to put up some pictures of that! Do you live near Chicago or were you just vacationing ? (if you don't mind me asking :0 )
Yes yes yes, the dip was perfect. So you were Dirk? Wow, I'm talking to a real live Dirk cosplayer! Amazing! And it's cool, I live in Chicagoland. Born and raised!
The day after Labor Day I told my friend about you guys, who's even more obsessed with Homestuck than I am, and you should have seen the look on her face. I've been scouring DA ever since, trying to find a picture of it! And here it is.
Oh, and also, in the lobby of the Art Institute, I think one of you guys smiled at me. I felt we had a special connection.
